Are the molecules of water bigger or smaller than oil?

Is it possible to pump up the water/oil and spin it really fast through a filter? Kinda like the way a juicer works.
Or is it possible to make a dome like the one they made only make it out of mesh so they can direct the oil?
As a plumber I know grease/oil interceptors work. Oil floats. Another Idea would be to pump up the spill on a boat and seperate the oil through grease traps.

You’re thinking too simplistically about the situation. When oil gets in seawater, the wind and waves churn things around enough that the water and oil turn into an emulsion, making the separation of oil from water much, much more difficult.

Also, a major trick is simply getting to the oil to clean it up – regardless of what method you use. It has been spread across hundreds and hundreds of square miles of ocean.
