You may also need to consider the working environment where they are supposed to be used, and it may include cold, hot, steamy or wet atmospheres. There are designs specifically made for different working environments.
Some hoist designs prevent dust and water from damaging the hoist’s chain; there are units also available for working environments with presence of gases or dust.

A low headroom hoist eliminates the potential of dangerous collisions or damaging of loads and the overhead chain-box of the hoist. They are for big bag handling but it can also be used for appropriate load, as long as the load does not exceed the hoist’s capacity.
They are powered by compressed air and are suitable for applications in hazardous areas like fertilizer, food, cement production, paper production and many other applications.
Make sure that you purchase a good quality low headroom hoist that can handle very accurate placement. This way, you’re sure that the job is done efficiently and accidents are prevented.

how to build a hoist stand?
Im trying to pull a boat motor out ford 302 i have the chain hoist but i neeed some ideas on how to build the stand. I think 2″ pipes should be good but Im not sure how to connect to hold up. I can weld or? What to use the cheapest way to go since once im done i probably wont need again.
Rent one, much safer and cheaper.
