Let us agree to the fact that money does make a difference where a quality boat is concerned. The intentions to buy a motor boat that can be tempting, but the wallet may be not so full. A new boat is definitely attractive,as you check out the pages of a glossy magazine, but your dreams could get dampened by the thought of getting into another long loan repayment scheme. Why not consider getting a second hand motor boat to save you some money?
The money that you save on getting a used boat is the primary advantage of course. A used boat could well save you money on the initial investment as well as accessories, but then you may have to spend a little more on the boat after you buy it. Of course the previous owner would most likely have kept the boat in good condition. Just having a good long chat with him can tell you a lot about what the boat needs in terms of regular maintenance and handling. And then he may even have improved on the boat here and there. In this case, if the owner has maintained the boat well, it could be a dream come true opportunity for you.
Getting a motor boat is also always a safe bet. If you are new to the market of the boat scene, inexperienced and uncertain about what you really require, you may end up with some very inappropriate and expensive boating gear. Buying a second hand motor boat will help you to avoid this kind of situation.
That said, be sure to do research. If an expert is needed for insurance purposes or for financing, recruitment of one, but check the facts yourself. Also, be realistic in this kind of damage, some you can fix yourself, or maybe what you could afford to hire someone to do it for you.
Check to see if the damages are only on the cosmetic surface or deeper? Is it really superficial and just needs a coat of paint or epoxy? Check out the vessel from end to end to determine if its really worth it.
Before making a solid offer, scan magazines, e-zines, online chat, browsing and viewing of articles of association and refer the faithful Blue Book to discover what this book would cost first hand. Consider the value of depreciation.
Refer witha dealer. Maybe a sale is best made through him / her or perhaps they could even clarify the actual cost of the vessel and if you sell short time on the road.

Couple of Math Word Problems–Help ME?!?
The leaning tower of Pisa in Italy is characterized by its tilt. The tower leans because it was built on a layer of unstable soil-clay, sand, and water. The angle between a point that is 151.11 meters from the center of the tower and to the top of the tower is 20 degrees. If the distance from that point to the top of the tower is 169.1meters, what is the height of the tower?
HELP?!?
If you can handle it, heres another:
The course for a boat race starts at a point A and proceeds in the direction S 52 degrees W to point B, then in the direction S 40 degrees E to point C, and finally back to A. The distance between poitns A and B is 8km and the bearing from point A to point C is S 15 degrees E. What is the total distance of the course?
If you draw a triangle with the dimensions given (using a line running through the centre of the tower as the other side of the triangle).
The height of the centre of the tower from the ground is different to the length of the tower because it is tilting – normally these are the same for non-tilting buildings!
To find the height, draw a line from the top of the tower to the ground. This represents the height as described above.
The height is then:
Sin(20) = height / 169.1
0.3420 = height / 169.1
0.3420 x 169.1 = height
height = 57.84 metres
Second problem:
Draw a line due east from point B until it intersects line AC. Finding the length of this line (now called X) will help find the length of line BC.
First split line X into two lines – X’ is to the west of a line drawn south from A, and X” is to the east (X = X’ + X”).
Sin(52) = X’ / 8
X’ = 6.30 km
To find X” we need the distance to line X from point A (I’ve called it line Y) using the Pythagorean theorem (where ^2 means ‘squared’):
8^2 = X’^2 + Y^2
64 – 39.69 = Y^2
Y = 4.93 km
Now:
Tan(15) = X” / Y
0.2679 = X” / 4.93
X” = 1.32
Therefore:
X = 7.62 km
Now we need to split lines BC and AC. Where line AC is intersected by line X, split the line into AC’ (northern part) and AC” (southern part). Draw a line at right angles to line BC so that it meets at the above intersection (I’ve called it line Z). This splits BC into BC’ (northern part) and BC” (southern part). This part looks complicated but helps us work out the line lengths later (it doesn’t matter what the lines are called, but it helps if your diagram matches mine!).
Now:
Sin(50) = Z / X
0.7660 = Z / 7.62
Z = 5.84 km
Therefore using the Pythagorean theorem:
X^2 = BC’^2 + Z^2
58.06 = BC’^2 + 34.11
BC’ = 4.89 km
Also:
Tan(25) = Z / BC”
0.4663 = 5.84 / BC”
BC” = 12.52 km
Therefore line BC = BC’ + BC” = 17.41 km
Therefore using the Pythagorean theorem twice again:
AC’^2 = Y^2 + X”^2
AC’^2 = 4.93^2 + 1.32^2
AC’ = 5.10 km
AC”^2 = Z^2 + BC”^2
AC”^2 = 5.84^2 + 12.52^2
AC” = 13.82 km
Therefore:
AC = AC’ + AC” = 18.92 km
Adding up AB + BC + AC gives the course length = 44.33 km
